I tried taking a huge panoramic shot of Banff National Park when I was at the top of Sulphur Mountain, and it turned out fantastic. The only bad thing is that the image is so wide, it looks small and not as gorgeous on Tumblr. I split it up into halves for Tumblr, so you could maybe see how beautiful it is there. If anyone has any suggestions on how to post a large panoramic photo for Tumblr, I am all ears.
The snow on the peaks of a lot of those mountains will be there 10-11 months of the year. Some of the snow is covering glaciers, which you can hike on in the summer.
Danxia refers to a “type of petrographic geomorphology” found in China. What that means is you get these mountains that look as though they were decorated with crayons by a five-year-old channelling Dalí.
Wow. Just, wow.
